...the Technology and Industrial Base Workshop: International Collaboration, held in conjunction with the North American Technology and Industrial Base Organization (NATIBO) Steering Committee Business Meeting, in Boston, MA on 24-25 June 2008, respectively.

The Workshop:
The 24 June 2008 Workshop is hosted by the NATIBO Co-Chairs at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Faculty Club, (http://web.mit.edu/dining/catering/mitfacultyclub/index.html.) The focus of the Workshop is to provide attendees of NATIBO’s annual Steering Committee meeting and other invited guests an opportunity to hear from experts in government, academia and industry and discuss topics related to:

• Best practices in conducting technology transfer in a collaborative, international environment;
• The role of government-to-government organizations in facilitating collaborative technology development and transition;
• Managing technology in a cross-border enterprise (companies with multinational operations);
• Addressing barriers to international collaboration in defense technology/industrial base programs.

We look for this Workshop to generate discussion and ideas on how to enhance NATIBO advocacy, operations, plans and project activities. The Workshop will offer you the opportunity to discuss your organization’s activities with DoD and DND leaders responsible for executing a broad array of programs aimed at facilitating the transition of technology from government laboratories into industry and eventually our operational forces. NATIBO is chartered to promote a cost-effective, healthy technology and industrial base that is responsive to the national and economic security needs of the United States and Canada. NATIBO is co-chaired by DoD DUSD(AS&C), Office of Technology Transition and the Director General International & Industry Program, Canadian Department of National Defence. Transportation will be provided between MIT and the Holiday Inn. Parking is difficult at MIT and expensive at the hotel. It is recommended that you do not rent a car. See Transportation for details.
