Monday’s program focuses on the Small Business Forum, a day long program beginning with two keynote presentations followed by the “Marketing to the Government and the Primes” an opportunity for small business participants to meet with a panel of primes and government representatives in four areas: construction; information technology; products/consumer goods/services; and manufacturing/manufacturing products. Between appointments, small businesses have a choice of workshops to attend.

Marketing to the Government & the Primes*
Prescheduled appointments will be accepted in the four areas of Construction, Information Technology, Products, Consumer Goods & Services, and Manufacturing & Manufacturing Products. Each appointment is 10 minutes in length. Each participating small business may make one (1) appointment, in two (2) different subject areas for a total of two (2) appointments. Registration for appointment times will begin in early September. Please note that a conference registration must be completed in addition to registering for appointment times. Small Business Workshops* The Tinker and the Primes organizers are excited to offer six workshops for our small business participants, as well as all other interested attendees. The workshops are going to be run in parallel, but will repeat in the afternoon to maximize the number of sessions in which attendees can participate. Each workshop is one hour in length.

Tinker AFB Building 3001 Tram Tour and Windshield Tour
The Tinker AFB tour gives participants the opportunity to see Historic Building 3001, headquarters of the OC-ALC. The building covers 62 acres and stretches for seven-tenths of a mile. Within its walls, workers perform a vast array of maintenance on aircraft, engines, components and accessories and perform a multitude of necessary administrative tasks.
Following the tram tour, participants will receive a base tour. During this tour participants will remain on the bus.
Tour participants will receive a boxed lunch as part of the $55 lunch and transportation fee. Lunch will be available beginning at 1200.Preregistration is required. |

Focus on the Air Force Global Logistics Support Center (AFGLSC)
This session provides a broad perspective of AFGLSC. First, we will discuss national policy affecting AFGLSC and small business opportunities. Next, attendees will hear how national policy is being implemented at Tinker AFB. The third tier will be a discussion of opportunities that may be on the horizon to work with AFGLS Cat Tinker AFB.

During this presentation, Mr. Thomas looks at five of the ten legal challenges discussed in his Monday workshop. These five challenges are prominent pitfalls not only to small businesses with limited Government contracting experience, but also frequently affect experienced Government contractors – large and small businesses.

Tuesday Lunch Presentation: Focus on the Workforce
The aerospace industry accounts for about 72,000 direct jobs in Oklahoma. The aerospace industry is a critical component of Oklahoma’s economy. This session will provide an overview of the Oklahoma Aerospace Skills Gap Analysis funded by the state’s BRAC II Grant that is ongoing through 2010 in Oklahoma. The research effort will investigate the gaps that exist between the skills required by the industry and the skills that exist for the entry-year worker. Project objectives, descriptions of participants, and preliminary findings will be shared. A demonstration of the Oklahoma Aerospace Workforce Center website will be presented to show how the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission plans to work with industry representatives to collect data in order to better understand the aerospace industry’s workforce pipeline and employment needs.
